Check out this video from CNN.com about the new Federal Rules about student loans. They should be going into effect next year! Basically, the amount that students will receive from Pell Grants will go up over the next 3-4 years.

Hey everybody. Its Dustin Picard and I'm an orientation advisor for this upcoming summer. Although some of us, including myself, are not into politics, it is important to keep up with it. Many of the decisions will affect young adults and students. The new Federal Rules about student loans is a prime example. Many student struggle with finances, and so this news comes as a bit of relief. Still worried about finances? There are many programs on campus as well as websites that are there to help students find a way to pay for school. It just takes a little research on your part. I know that my adviser sends me information about scholarships she comes across, but I also spend an hour or so a week finding and applying for scholarships I'm eligible for. Lastly, through the work study loan, students can get an on campus job (which there are many), and earn cash as well as loans for school. Many of my friends are apart of this and they speak highly of it.
