We've already talked about sports and the fun and camaraderie of being at a sporting event with your friends and fellow students, but what happened after the game is the talk of the campus right now. Was it a riot? Or was it just youthful celebration?
It probably depends on who you talk to, and I don't want to make any kind of opinion on this site, but I have provided the link to The Diamondback story for you to make your own decision.
What is important to remember, is that whether or not you THINK it's rioting, if you get arrested, your name will be sent to the Office of Student Conduct on campus. Even if the event occurs off campus, UMD and College Park have an agreement which allows the police to arrest and charge you with a crime and then sanction you through Student Conduct. After you receive your due process from the student-led conduct board, you can be suspended or even expelled for your actions.
